Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
This policy explains what personal data Rootive collects through this website, how it's used, and what rights you have over it. Rootive is operated by Ethan Fryer, trading as Rootive, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom, and is the data controller for the information described below.
1. What data is collected
The only personal data collected through this website is what you voluntarily submit through the contact form: your name, email address, and the message you send. This website does not currently use cookies, analytics, or any tracking technology, and does not collect any data automatically as you browse.
2. How your data is used
Information submitted through the contact form is used solely to respond to your enquiry - to understand what you're asking about and reply to you directly. It is not used for marketing, added to a mailing list, or shared with any third party for their own purposes.
3. Legal basis for processing
Your data is processed on the basis of legitimate interest - specifically, Rootive's interest in responding to enquiries from people who have chosen to get in touch. You can withdraw your enquiry or ask for your data to be deleted at any time (see "Your rights" below).
4. Who processes your data
Contact form submissions are sent via email using Resend, a transactional email service. Resend processes the content of your message solely to deliver it to Rootive's inbox, and does not use it for any other purpose. This website is hosted on Vercel, which may process technical data (such as IP address) as part of serving the website, in line with Vercel's own privacy policy. Neither service is used to build a profile of you or for advertising purposes.
5. How long your data is kept
Enquiry emails are kept for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to and follow up on your enquiry, and are deleted or archived once that's no longer needed - typically within 12 months, unless you go on to become a client, in which case relevant correspondence may be kept for the duration of the working relationship and a reasonable period afterward for record-keeping purposes.
6. Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Ask what personal data is held about you
- Ask for inaccurate data to be corrected
- Ask for your data to be deleted
- Object to how your data is being used
- Withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing
To exercise any of these rights, email enquiries@rootive.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you believe your data has been mishandled.
7. Cookies
This website does not currently use cookies or any analytics tools. If that changes in the future - for example, to add privacy-friendly analytics - this policy will be updated to reflect it before any such tool is introduced.
8. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated occasionally to reflect changes to the website or how data is handled. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
9. Contact
For any questions about this policy or how your data is handled, contact enquiries@rootive.co.uk.
